Mark Giannini Memphis: House of Mews



Mark Giannini of Memphis founded Service Assurance/Outsource IT two years out of college, and built it into the largest privately held technology integration organization in the Mid-South.

The company specialized in customer-focused computer service and repair, and one that would respond to its customers in hours rather than in days. Mark Giannini of Memphis says that he was able to grow the business through attention to detail and focused execution.
Mark Giannini of Memphis is a 1987 graduate of Christian Brothers University, a four-year, private university in Memphis. He founded Service Assurance/Outsource IT in 1989.



Mark Giannini of Memphis is also responsible for Packrat Automatic Data Protection, a software product that is designed to recover computer data after a crash or some similar disaster. He says the Packrat software is a superior data recovery solution to traditional external data backup systems like tapes, ZIP drives, and other removable media.

For all of his accomplishments, Mark Giannini of Memphis was a recipient of the "Top 40 under 40" award from the Memphis Business Journal in 1996. One year later he was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the same publication. Entrepreneur Magazine named Mark Giannini of Memphis one of the Top 500 Entrepreneurs in the United States in 1997. He sold Service Assurance/Outsource IT to All Covered, a division of Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA, in 2012.

Mark Giannini of Memphis is a longtime supporter of many charitable causes, including the Race for the Cure. He has been the technology donor for the Boy Scouts and a supporter of the House of Mews, a Memphis area feline protection agency.

Mark Giannini of Memphis, TN Gives to Homeless Pet Populations



Mark Giannini of Memphis, TN is well-known for his community involvement efforts and his ability to use smart business approaches to draw hefty donations from generous benefactors. His experience with the House of Mews in Memphis shows his ability to draw support from his fellow peers as well.

The House of Mews is a no-kill cat rescue and adoption shelter that was being battered by financial struggles back in 2010. These struggles included the burden of a raised monthly rent. The shelter had over a hundred and forty cats and about thirty kittens at the time, all of which were soon to be without a home. Mark Giannini of Memphis, TN, who is allergic to cats, heard about this sad circumstance from a local newspaper, and was compelled into action. He spoke with his partners at Service Assurance, his successful information technology firm, and they decided they would take immediate action.

The sponsorship from Service Assurance covered the House of Mew’s thousand-dollar rent in full for thirty six months. Their efforts didn’t end there, though; Service Assurance, an IT company, maintained the adoption shelter’s website and online presence while encouraging their workers to volunteer hours there, doing basic repairs, wiring jobs or just playing with the cats.

Mark Giannini held board of director positions in multiple organizations. He worked for the Memphis Better Business Bureau, preserving the integrity of businesses in his area. He was an avid fundraiser for the Brooks Museum of Art, Tennessee’s oldest and largest museum, and supported them to the tune of $800,000. Gianni spent time in the Memphis Chamber of Commerce, where he found ways to boost business development in the Greater Memphis area while fighting unemployment rates.

His endeavors were not all business, however. He took much pleasure in his faith, the arts and botany.
As an alumnus of Christian Brothers University, Mark Giannini helped his alma mater resolve issues pertaining to the university through cost-efficient solutions and fundraising. For Dixon Gallery and Gardens, Mark Giannini was the creator their largest fundraiser ever, Art on Fire. A music lover at heart, Mark Giannini served as a governing member of Beale Street Caravan, a radio syndicate that plays mostly local music. Lastly, Mark Giannini believes the preservation of community starts with its beautification. The natural beauty of the Memphis Botanical Gardens is a model for community improvement that shows how living communities can grow from their roots.
